Warning! These household items can be dangerous for your Cats

by Akshay Mirchandani

Roaming around the house and eliminating all the safety hazards is Job.1 when you decide to bring home a kitten. Petscura brings you a combined list of the things pet parents must take care of and remove from the kitten’s environment to ensure ultimate safety.

1-Never leave toilet seats up

Depending on the habits of the owners, it is important to make sure to never accidently leave the toilet seat up. Kittens and cats may fall into the pot and drown or may drink the water that is hazardous for their health.

2-Keep the plastic wraps away

Kittens and cats sometimes don’t know what to chew on and what not to. Before the new member is added to the family, get rid of the plastic wraps in the house for them to not get themselves entangled and not be able to chew and eat it.

3- Make sure there are no dangling wires

Wires are tempting to chew on, however they can electrocute and kill the cat. Make sure that all exposed wires are hidden away.

4- Pay attention to toy parts

Toys have parts that can be easily removed and swallowed by the kitten or the cat. Keep a closer eye or switch to toys that have a low probability of being dismantled.

5- Yarn

Kittens and cats may love to play with Yarn but it has proven to not be good for them. The strings pose a choking threat and can damage their intestinal tract if swallowed.

Bringing home a pet needs all the little things to be taken care of. Walk around the house to notice the minute things that need to be changed or disposed off for the well-being of your little one.

By taking care of the above household, everyday-use items, a major threat to the health of your cat can be eliminated.

We wish you a happy parenting!
